Babies and their fawning, face-making, waving adults filled the John H. Miller Community Center gym Thursday evening for the annual Fayette County Baby Show.

Organized by the Hope Center, the contest drew 61 entrants, said Jennifer Young, the Hope Center’s executive director, who served as the announcer. Sixty of the babies came in white onesies, and one came dressed as Horton, the elephant in Horton Hears a Who, a Dr. Seuss book.

Class by class, they came to a row of chairs lined up in front of the judges, who picked winners in each grouping. Group winners then competed with each other for king and queen.
