Individuals listed in the arrest logs are considered innocent until proven guilty. The preliminary charges and bonds may be changed when a case goes to court.

Accidents

A Toyota Corolla driven by Tina M. Smith, Liberty, and a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Gidana L. Richmond, Laurel, were involved in an accident Wednesday in the 1800 block of Park Road, Connersville Police Lt. Ryan Sherwood said. 

A Toyota RAV4 driven by Marissa B. Turner, Williamsburg, and a Ford Freestar driven by James M. Garrett, 214 W. 35th St., were involved in an accident Wednesday at 30th Street and Western Avenue. Turner reported Garrett fled the scene and officers located him and the van at in the 200 block of West 35th Street. CPD Officer Brad Rosser said Garrett is a habitual traffic violator with a lifetime suspension. Garrett was arrested.

A Ford Fusion driven by Patty J. Bishop, 604 Cherokee Lane, and a Honda Pilot driven by Taylor M. Richardson, 2123 Ohio Ave., were involved in an accident Tuesday at 2200 block of Park Road. Fayette County Emergency Medical Services transported Bishop to Fayette Regional Health System for treatment, Rosser said. 

A Lincoln MKZ driven by Marcella J. Roberts, Carmel, and a Honda Civic driven by Matthew J. Bellanceau, 326 W. 11th St., were involved in an accident Thursday at Grand Avenue and West 12th Street, Connersville Police Officer Clint Brown said.

A Nissan Pathfinder driven by Dawn R. Hottman, 1053 N. County Road 550-E., struck a Chevrolet van Thursday owned by Amanda Sizemore, 2024 Indiana Ave., while parked at Walmart, 4200 Western Ave., CPD Officer Brad Rosser said.

Arrests

Dakota D. Dawson, 26, 538 Parsley St., was arrested Thursday at his residence on a warrant charge of battery. Dawson was lodged in the Fayette County Jail with no bond.

James M. Garrett III, 43, 214 W. 35th St., was arrested Wednesday at his residence by Rosser on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and habitual traffic offender. Garrett was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $15,000 bond.

Jonathon N. Allen, 26, 355 S. County Road 350-W., was arrested Tuesday at his residence by Fayette County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bobbie Revalee on a warrant charge of failure to appear. Allen was lodged in FCJ with no bond.

Zachary W. Allen, 22, 910 E. 5th St., was arrested Friday at Eastern Avenue and East 16th Street by Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Dan Becker on a charge of auto theft: receiving stolen parts. Allen was lodged in the Fayette County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond. 

Blotter

CPD Sgt. Brian Evans reported Thursday a domestic battery incident had escalated 317 W. 24th St.  that included a handgun being shot into the yard. The investigation is continuing.

CPD reported one agency assist and one verbal argument Thursday.

Rosser reported Wednesday on a call that a young male had thrown items at a young girl at Dollar Tree, 3896 Western Ave. A verbal argument resulted between the mothers and another woman pulled a knife against the girl’s mother. After the store clerk called police, the woman with the knife fled in a silver or gray car.

CPD reported four verbal arguments, two medical calls, two welfare checks, three alarm responses, one citizen assist, one unwanted subject, one threat Wednesday.

CPD reported four citizen assists, two unwanted subject, one vehicle identification number check and one welfare check Tuesday.

CPD reported one citizen assist and one threat Friday.

Amber Schonfeld, 319 W. 24th St., reported Thursday her parked vehicle had been struck by the driver of a vehicle that left the scene, CPD Officer Kyle Miller said.

Sheryl A. Conner, 2918 Virginia Ave., reported Thursday a large amount of cash had been taken from her residence, Rosser said.

Venassia L. Howard, 2174 Country Club Road, reported Thursday her city-owned trash Tote had been spray painted, Miller said.

Keith Bunch, no address provided, reported Thursday his Honda Passport had been stolen from the parking lot of Maplewood Inn, 2046 Grand Ave. The Rush County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle wrecked in a culvert west of Falmouth, Miller said.

CPD reported two verbal arguments, three fireworks calls, five citizen assists, two welfare checks, two agency assists Thursday.

Fire runs

Connersville Fire Department responded Thursday to medical calls in the 1100 block of Fayette Street, 100 block of South 1st Street, 1400 block of East 5th Street, 2100 block of Whitewater Boulevard and the 1200 block of Illinois Avenue.

Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department responded Thursday to a medical call in the 4000 block of Winding Creek Drive.

CFD responded Wednesday medical calls in the 1700 block of Virginia Avenue, 900 block of Oak Street, 2500 block of Iowa Avenue and the 2600 block of Grand Avenue.

CFD responded Tuesday to medical calls in the 2000 block of Virginia Avenue, 3600 block of Western Avenue, on Water Street  and the 100 block of East 4th Street, to a vehicle accident in the 2200 block of Park Road and to an alarm response in the 1100 block of Spartan Drive.

Connersville Fire Department responded Thursday to medical calls in the 2500 block of Iowa Avenue and the 4000 block of Western Avenue.
