Police dog gets donated vest

Indiana State PoliceK9 Tora has received a bullet and stab protective vest.

PENDLETON — Indiana State Police Pendleton District’s K9 Tora has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The vest was sponsored by an anonymous sponsor and embroidered with the sentiment In Memory of Mel Nading, Pilot of Helo 1.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies.

Since its inception in 2009, donations to Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. have provided over 2,800 protective vests at a cost of over $2.4 million.
