Tickets available for 500 Festival events

INDIANAPOLIS  — Tickets are available for 500 Festival events preceding the Indianapolis 500 race.

The 500 Festival Parade will be May 26 in downtown Indianapolis. The 33 starting drivers of the Indianapolis 500 serve as honorary grand marshals. Tickets start at $10.

The Snakepit Ball will be 6-10 p.m. at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. This black-tie event incorporates unique cocktails and foods in a celebrity-style party. Tickets are $325.

Breakfast at the Brickyard is 8:30-10:30 a.m. May 19 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Plaza Pavilion. Indiana mayors will be honored for their civic work. The 500 Festival Queen scholar winner will be announced. Tickets cost $75 or $850 for a corporate table.

The 500 Festival Mini-Marathon will be Saturday, May 5, starting at 7:30 a.m. The half marathon starts downtown and is a round-trip to the 500 racetrack. Cost is $89.

The 500 Festival Rookie Run for ages 3-10 is May 12, starting at Ohio and Meridian streets. This non-competitive fun run is from 12:30 - 3 p.m. Pre-registration is $8, including a T-shirt; day-of registration is $5, and T-shirts will be sold for $5.

Free parenting class offered at hospital

A free parenting class will be offered 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Fayette Regional Health Care Pavilion, 450 Erie Avenue

Becky Hunter will present Parenting a Child with Behavioral Issues. There will be free prizes and refreshments for those who attend.
